Searching the Commissioner's decisions

If you have been unable to use the standard decisions search, you can use our standard search at the top of the page or visit our advanced search page to search specifically within the 'Decisions' area of the site.

This page explains how to use some of the advanced search features when searching the Commissioner's decisions.

The "Exemptions / Sections" search allows you to bring back a list of decisions featuring discussion of particular exemptions or sections within the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.You can also use this search to find a list of all decisions involving the Environmental Information (Scotland) Regulations 2004 (the EIRS).

A key to the list of sections and exemptions is provided below:

  • EIRS - all decisions involving the Environmental Information (Scotland) Regulations 2004
  • Section 3(2)(a)(i) - Information held on behalf of another person
