Our 2014/15 Annual Report sets out the work we've done across the year to support the delivery of "Information for All".

Highlights include: 

  • Public awareness of FOI is at its highest ever level, at 84%
  • We received 474 total appeals across the year
  • The proportion of appeals we received under the Environmental Information (Scotland) Regulations 2004 rose to its highest ever level
  • The number of "failure to respond" appeals we received fell dramatically following our Special Report on the issue
  • The Commissioner found wholly or partially in favour of requesters in 64% of her decisions
  • The average age of cases closed by the Commissioner fell to its lowest level, at 3.18 months
  • 59% of our appeals were from members of the public
  • Public bodies reported receiving 66,804 information requests in 2014/15
  • 94% of the public think that FOI is important in holding public bodies to account
  • More than 200 people from over 30 organisations attended one of our regional Roadshow events across the year
